As I mentioned before, I'm basically a guitar/bass/drums rock 'n roller. I'll always experiment with other instruments and other sounds, but I'll always go back to my roots, too. I guess one of the reasons I dig punk so much is that the punk revolution was, originally, a return to that stripped-down rock sound. You don't generally hear extended guitar or drum (or keyboard!) solos on a punk record... and since I rarely try playing a solo, for good reason, punk is a great fit for me. Heh-heh. When I recorded this late in 2000, months after writing it, I had a Blink-182 sorta sound in mind. And no, the song is not based on my real life.
lyrics
He rolled off the girl,
Totally spent.
He thought to himself sadly,
"This just ain't what I meant
When I talked about love,
Talked about us,"
But he just bit his lip,
And walked her out to the bus.
CHORUS:
Blond on blonde,
And it happens just the same as before.
His heart's been conned,
He's in love, but to her, he's one more
Guy who's fond
Of the charms
Of a blonde...
Drank her off his mind,
But it didn't take long
'Til he'd sniffed out another
Though he knew down inside she was wrong.
CHORUS:
Blond on blonde,
And the poor sap goes through it again.
He's no James Bond,
He'll get hurt, it's just a question of when.
Jump in a pond;
It's safer than
Wanting a blonde!
He just cannot resist
Blondie's feminine wiles;
For a blue-eyed blonde babe,
He'd crawl a thousand miles!
And that's his tragic flaw,
Why he'll never be happy.
Puts those damn blondes on a pedestal,
When they're no better than you and me.
CHORUS:
Blond on blonde,
And it happens just the same as before.
His heart's been conned,
He's in love, but to her, he's one more
Guy who's fond
Of the charms
Of a blonde...
4th time around...
